Senior Spotlight: Luke Hanson Phipps

Senior Luke Hanson Phipps runs towards the finish line, making Riley proud!

Luke Hanson Phipps, like many of his teammates, has put a lot of time and effort into the Riley Cross Country Team. Running all four years, Luke has grown very close with his team and has shown his extreme pride in all of them, especially this year as many have faced injuries or are still recovering from the struggles of being quarantined early on in their conditioning and season.

Luke says, “I'm so proud of where the guys are now. Everyone has become great runners and even better men. I'm especially proud of Riley Fuerbringer. He has not only shown how talented he is but also grown into being a respectful, kind, and genuine person.”

Luke has very much enjoyed running, but even more so he enjoys the family bond he and his teammates share. From the pasta parties, to practice and the meets, they are truly a family. The team celebrates together not only the struggles, but also the incredible personal records many of the boys have set throughout the season.

Thank you Luke for your time and dedication and congratulations to much of the team for advancing to IHSAA regionals. Let’s Go Wildcats!
