Welcome back, Wildcats! Today we’re going to be diving into a streaming service that has things from a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away. That’s right, we’re talking about Disney+, everyone’s favorite capitalist corporation. Seriously guys, name something Disney doesn’t own or will be the parent company of in another year or two. But since Disney will eventually buy out every other company, we might as well get into the things they’ve already sunk their teeth into.

Starting with our show, we have the new, exciting, and cool Andor series. Taking place in the Star Wars universe, the show follows Cassian Andor in his early rebel years. In case you have no clue about Star Wars other than the light swords and maybe some memes, Cassian Andor also appeared in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. That’s after Darth Vader is around, but before the original movies for anyone still confused. The first season will be only 9 episodes, so if you have a Saturday to kill, binging Andor is definitely a good idea.

Moving on to movies, we have two because that’s what Disney does best! The currently unreleased, but already everywhere animated film, Strange World, is dropping November 23. Sorry to any of my Swifties out there—it does star Jake Gyllenhall—but if you can get past that, it looks like a really good movie. The aesthetic I’ve seen in the previews is giving Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs vibes, and since animation seems to remain Disney’s forte, it’s sure to be a quality film. Of course, it also has an interesting story. Ethan Clade is from a famous family of explorers and ends up helping his estranged father and some other explorers as they navigate this dangerous, and quite simply Strange World.

The other movie I’m talking about is Pinocchio. No, not the one deemed “fruity pinocchio” starring Pauly Shore (A Goofy Movie), Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite), and Tom Kenny (Spongebob Squarepants), that one wasn’t Disney, but it was a masterpiece. I’m not talking about Disney’s new, live-action one either. No, I’m talking about Disney’s 1940 animated film, Pinocchio. That’s right, we’re talking about the classic Disney Pinocchio. Despite being over 82 years old, Pinocchio remains one of the most popular classic Disney films, and one definitely worth a rewatch.

Last but not least, it’s time for our song. With her newly released documentary bearing the same name, it’s no surprise that My Mind & Me by Selena Gomez is topping charts. Just like her documentary on Apple TV, this song talks about her personal experiences with mental health issues. This is a sensitive topic, as well as one that a large number of people in the entertainment industry don’t talk about nearly enough, so it’s very brave of Gomez to openly show this side of herself that she’s done well to hide behind cameras. Oh, and that “hiding” line, that’s straight from the song. It’s a great listen, so be sure to check it out, and remember that if you’re suffering from mental health issues, you are not alone.

That’ll do it for me today. Disney+ has a lot to offer with Andor, Strange World, and even an old classic like Pinocchio. And don’t forget to listen to My Mind & Me by Selena Gomez. Next week, I’ll be talking about Peacock and looking back at Amazon Music for your top song. Until then, keep binging and Go Wildcats!
